摘要: Histochemical, biochemical, microfluorometric and electron microscopic studies were made of the spleen a patient with type I hyperlipoproteinemia. Foam cells observed that contained material identified as ceroid on basis its autofluorescence, acid-fastness, sudanophilia, PAS-positivity insolubility in organic solvents. Electron microscopy showed was organized form granules concentric lamellae irregular periodicity. The process formation these is described detail. considered to represent nondigestible end products metabolism chylomicrons taken up by macrophages splenic sinusoids.
