摘要: A modified gel-casting process was developed to produce both dense and highly porous (40% volume) yttria tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) using agar, a natural polysaccharide, as gelling agent. fugitive phase, made of commercial polyethylene spheres, added the ceramic suspension before cellular structures. The characterization microstructural features ceramics carried out by FEG SEM analysis cross-sections produced focused ion beam. mechanical properties components were characterized at room temperature nanoindentation tests in continuous stiffness measurement mode, investigating direct effect presence residual microporosity. diffuse microporosity from incomplete gel deaeration resulted decay bending strength elastic modulus. behavior (in terms modulus, flexural strength, deformation rupture) investigated performing four-point 1500°C.
