摘要: Background Zinc supplementation for the treatment of diarrhoea has been shown to decrease duration and severity diarrhoeal episode, hospitalization rates and, in some studies, all-cause mortality. Using multiple outcome measures, we sought estimate effect zinc on mortality subsequent pneumonia mortality. Methods We conducted a systematic review efficacy effectiveness studies. used standardized abstraction grading format performed meta-analyses all outcomes with ≥2 data points. The estimated was determined by applying standard Child Health Epidemiology Reference Group rules outcomes. Results identified 13 studies abstraction. decreased proportion episodes which lasted beyond 7 days, risk hospitalization, hospitalizations as closest most conservative possible proxy mortality, is 23%. Conclusion an effective therapy will morbidity when introduced scaled-up low-income countries.
