摘要: In a pediatric intensive care unit we conducted 1-year prospective study of 454 patients to determine whether wearing gown decreased the overall nosocomial infection rate, incidence intravascular catheter colonization, breaks in handwashing technique, and traffic. The rate was 26 (13%) 198 admissions during gown-wearing periods v 23 (9%) 256 for when gowns were not worn (P less than .25). Of 348 tips cultured 16 (4.6%) colonized compared with 21 (6.3%) 330 no 78 patient contacts 54 (69%) followed by 59 (70%) 84 worn. mean occurrence visits per hour total differed between no-gown-wearing analysis variance, P .01 .005, respectively. Although traffic use, overgowns are an expensive, ineffective method decreasing rates, vascular colonization technique.
