摘要: The performance of a sample French urban transit companies is evaluated using broad selection nonparametric reference technologies for two specifications the production process. In particular, variable returns to scale Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models with either strong or weak disposability in both inputs and outputs, Free Disposal Hull (FDH) are applied. An extensive comparison resulting radial output efficiency measures yields following major methodological conclusions. First, location distributions differs substantially depending on methodology especially specification considered. latter differences vanish if impact outliers eliminated. Second, convexity has stronger influence efficient-inefficient dichotomy than allowing congestion by means weakly disposable DEA model. For policy purposes, these explained Tobit findings corroborate results reported elsewhere: relevance ownership, use risk-sharing incentives contracting, harmful subsidies, etc. Furthermore, network structure seems account some performance. Finally, novelty context indirect monitoring effect earmarked transportation tax.
