摘要: This study aimed to investigate the relationships among osteocalcin, leptin and metabolic health outcomes in children ages 9–13 years. was a cross-sectional analysis of baseline data from 161 boys 157 girls (ages years) who previously participated double-blinded randomized placebo controlled trial vitamin D supplementation. Relationships fasting serum total osteocalcin (tOC), undercarboxylated (ucOC), leptin, were analyzed. Approximately 52% participants obese based on percent body fat cutoffs (>25% for >32% girls) about 5% had glucose within prediabetic range (i.e. 100 125 mg/dL). Serum tOC not correlated with glucose, insulin, HOMA-IR, or HOMA-β after adjusting fat. However, ucOC negatively (partial r = −0.16; p = 0.04) adjustment Leptin positive predictor age, sex (all p < 0.001). These depict an inverse relationship between various children. notion that link energy metabolism healthy supported. NCT00931580 .
