摘要: Abstract The evolving biomass-based chemical industry in Brazil (ethanolchemistry) is reviewed with the main development technology difficulties and policy options. Unlike ethanol-fuelled vehicles, ethanol-based has recieved relatively little attention outside Brazil. Although ethnnolchemistry faces serious competition from petrochemicals, there a strong case for further expansion given favourable conditions country large number of products which can be obtained ethanolchemistry. Ethanolchemistry is, long term, reasonable alternative to petrochemicals many non-oil producing Third World countries develop an indigenous industry.
