摘要: Abstract Tungsten particles were incorporated into an Al 5083 matrix by friction stir processing (FSP). FSP resulted in uniform dispersion of the tungsten with excellent interfacial bonding and more importantly without formation any harmful intermetallics. For first time, penetrated to a depth equal full pin length tool. A novel aspect Al–W composite is that it showed improvement than 100 MPa UTS at same time exhibited high ductility (30%). The was also evident from well defined dimples fracture surface which revealed superior between matrix. substantial grain refinement Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) transmission electron microscopy analysis fine grains formed dynamic recrystallization. gradual transformation sub-grain high-angle boundaries observed EBSD pointing towards occurrence continuous type recrystallization process.
