摘要: EXTENDED ABSTRACT. The goal of this work is to quantify trends in both space and time water stored the terrestrial environment within South Carolina during following a period drought. We present balance approach that synthesizes existing data for watersheds defined by drainage area between streamflow gaging stations. apply river basins 1998-2007 using precipitation evaporation fluxes integrated over watershed areas observed observations at inlet outlet watersheds. Results from analysis show distinct seasonal variation storage different spatial regions state, with fall winter seasons having surpluses, spring summer exhibiting deficits. On an annual basis, quantifies impact drought on shows evidence rate recovery compared our estimates change groundwater levels as independent validation. comparison many state exhibited strong correlation analysis, expected. simple yet valuable means estimating availability synthesizing model output geospatially-explicit context.
