摘要: Extraction of petrochemicals from the surface mining oil sand deposits results in generation large volumes sands process-affected water (OSPW). Naphthenic acids (NA) are generally considered to be among most toxic components OSPW. Previous studies have shown that NAs aquatic organisms, however knowledge their effects on mammalian health and development is limited. In present study, we evaluated developmental an NA extract prepared fresh OSPW differentiating mouse embryonic stem cells (ESC). We found treatment with at noncytotoxic concentrations alters expression various lineage specification markers heart. Notably, cardiac specific such as Nkx2.5, Gata4, Mef2c were significantly up-regulated.
