摘要: ABSTRACT The authors describe the history, characteristics, and goals of four innovative programs, each in a medical school, that were established 1998 to help faculty members both sexes obtain mentors thereby facilitate their career advancement. programs as result an initiative by Office on Women's Health (OWH) within U.S. Department Human Services. Specifically, OWH convened National Task Force Mentoring for Professionals, which determined two principles are paramount success any mentoring relationship or program: institutional commitment rewards recognition mentors. In accordance with task force findings, created Centers Leadership Academic Medicine, one at schools: MCP Hahnemann School Medicine; University California, San Diego, East Carolina Meharry Medical College Medicine. give highlights program's progress, note that, ideally, these will eventually serve models similar other schools.
