摘要: Objective: To assess the trend of thyroid cancer mortality in Brazil between 1980 and 2010. Materials methods: An ecological study time series. Mortality rates for adjusted by age according to gender were calculated Data analyzed three distinct strategies: polynomial regression, joinpoint analysis, moving averages. Results: Over 70% deaths occur elderly, regardless sex. Among young adults, rate is low, with no difference men women. mature adults increasing, significantly, There a decreasing all female overall population, males 40-59 years both excluding statistical significance. Conclusion: Knowledge about trends allows setting priorities allocating resources toward positive changes this scenario Brazilian population. Arq Bras Endocrinol Metab.
