Remaking the World: Myth, Mining, and Ritual Change among the Duna of Papua New Guinea

摘要: Drawing on both their own fieldwork from 1991 to 1999 and older written sources, Stewart Strathern explore how the Duna have remade rituals associated myths in response outside influences of government, Christianity, large-scale economic development, specifically mining oil prospecting. The authors provide in-depth ethnographic materials present many detailed descriptions ritual practices that been abandoned.
