摘要: INTRODUCTION Cochlear implantation has become an increasingly common operation for sensorineural hearing loss, with thousands of implantations having been performed worldwide. In most cases, the transmastoid, facial recess approach facilitates entry into middle ear and usually allows visualization round window (RW) niche. Occasionally, relationships osseous external auditory canal (EAC), RW niche, nerve may impair adequate creation a cochleostomy. this situation, transcanal approach, wall down mastoidectomy, or moving cochleostomy to alternative location be necessary. The present report describes case in which niche was impaired despite standard techniques. posterior EAC translocated anteriorly, keeping skin intact. After maneuver, easily drilled implant electrode inserted without difficulty. advantages potential complications technique are discussed.
