摘要: Aim: This study investigated the quorum sensing, biofilm and type three secretion system (TTSS) inhibitory properties of citrus flavonoids. Methods Results: Flavonoids were tested for their ability to inhibit sensing using Vibrio harveyi reporter assay. Biofilm assays carried out in 96-well plates. Inhibition formation Escherichia coli O157:H7 V. harveyi by flavonoids was measured. Furthermore, effect naringenin on expression TTSS semi-quantitative PCR. Differential responses different observed cell–cell signalling systems. Among flavonoids, naringenin, kaempferol, quercetin apigenin effective antagonists signalling. these suppressed E. coli O157:H7. In addition, altered genes encoding V. harveyi. Conclusion: The results indicate a potential modulation bacterial communication, virulence, especially quercetin, sinensetin apigenin. emerged as potent possibly nonspecific inhibitor autoinducer-mediated Naringenin other are prominent secondary metabolites present species. Therefore, citrus, being major source some virtue widely consumed fruit, may modulate intestinal microflora. Significance Impact Study: Currently, limited number naturally occurring compounds have demonstrated inhibition communications; therefore, be useful lead development antipathogenic agents.
