摘要: This work stems from an increased effort to improve cancer survival rates through earlier diagnosis, which itself may be achieved prompt medical help-seeking for symptoms. thesis focuses on responses symptoms potentially indicative of a gynaecological cancer; group cancers that pose significant threat women, and yet are under-represented in the literature. Four studies were conducted. Studies One Two (n=1392 n=1000, respectively) population-based surveys measuring awareness cervical ovarian risk factors symptoms, respectively. Study two also measured hypothetical help-seeking. three was survey nationally-representative sample women (n=911), explored real cancer. Building study three, four at deeper level, in-depth, one-to-one interviews with who had recently, or currently, experiencing symptom Awareness low overall. Women anticipated seeking help promptly cancer, however, when faced outside context might not sought as promptly. I found respond many different ways.
