摘要: Abstract The present paper investigates the effectiveness of two-steps clinching for joining aluminum and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). To this end, different reshaping tools were involved after by with split dies. force was also varied. Single lap shear tests simple clinched reshaped specimens performed to determine influence process conditions on mechanical behavior joints. morphology geometry joints analyzed understand how step influences main quality criteria damage produced CFRP sheet. According experimental results, connection failed pullout; thus, critical parameter undercut. method, using optimized enabled increase strength 32%. Such an improvement due in undercut that resulted from a higher improved material flow. defects may appear these have been identified as well their causes.
