摘要: Background Presence of parathyroid hormone related protein (PTHrP) might suggest that ameloblastomas recapitulate features the enamel epithelium and induce bone resorption, which would facilitate their growth local invasion. The aim this study was to determine expression PTHrP in ameloblastomas. Material methods An observational research designed including 39 cases histologically diagnosed (39 out 42 patients gave consent for use medical records all data required study). Gender, age, tumor location, histological type subtype were recorded determined by indirect immunohistochemistry using monoclonal anti-human (1D1 / Santa Cruz Biotechnology). Protein intensity evaluated under light microscope finally statistically analyzed. This approved Caracas West General Hospital review board. Results evenly distributed between genders (49% male 51% female) with a mean age 33 ± 3.53 years, mainly affecting posterior mandible. 20 (51.28%) showed positive cytoplasmic immunoreactivity PTHrP. 8 15 solid/multicystic 12 23 unicystic positive. Intense observed 4 (all luminal subtype) 5 conventional Conclusions In present solid multicystic ameloblastoma suggests its possible function biological behavior tumor.
