Reaction, diffusion, electric conduction and determination of fixed ions in a hydrogel

摘要: Connecting the aqueous solutions of strong acid and a base with hydrogel cylinder in electric field creates special nonequilibrium chemical system called “electrolyte diode”, where reaction, diffusion conduction can be studied simultaneously. It was found that current-voltage characteristic such diode is strongly affected by relatively small concentrations fixed ions hydrogel. A theory to explain role proposed. According theory, from slope intercept curve ion concentration easily calculated. Experiments pure polyelectrolyte modified PVA based hydrogels support proposed theory.
