摘要: Introduction: Computed tomographic colonography (CTC) is a non-invasive method of examining the colon and used for colorectal polyp mass diagnosis. As entire abdomen examined, incidental extracolonic pathologies can be diagnosed. The types findings (ECFs) their frequency have not been explored in an Australian setting. Methods: A retrospective review all CTC examinations performed tertiary hospital between February 2004 July 2009 were reviewed to extract patient demographic data, reason referral, presence colonic polyps masses, other pathologies. Statistical significance was determined using Student's t-test or Fisher's exact test where appropriate. Results: Two hundred fifty-eight ECF present 70.1% more common with increasing age (P ≤ 0.01), but related gender, source referral findings. Major ECFs diagnosed 8.9% patients. Conclusions: are frequent although they common, only minority high significance.
