摘要: Abstract Convergence of shallow tunnels (30–120 m overburden thickness) constructed in Greece different types rock masses has been assessed as a function the Geological Strength Index (GSI classification). Predictions maximum vertical and horizontal convergence, during or shortly after tunnel excavation, were made using Finite Element Modeling (FEM) ‘characteristic line’ theory, found to be good agreement with geodetic observations convergence collected period approximately 2 months section excavation. The results from FEM adequately reliably predict expected deformation theory line’, on other hand, seems offer realistic reliable upper-bound estimate convergence.
