摘要: Publisher Summary Meiosis is a specialized cell division in which the chromosome number reduced to half, generating haploid gametes for sexual reproduction. Chromosome behavior during meiosis complex, comprising single round of replication followed by two successive rounds segregation. The I unique that homologous chromosomes disjoin from each other; at II, such as mitosis, sister chromatids segregate one another. Although some details differ different organisms, fundamental process meiotic segregation conserved. Therefore, can be studied yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, taking advantage its powerful genetics. During prophase I, pair, synapse along meiosis-specific organelle called “the synaptonemal complex (SC),” undergo recombination. These processes are essential correct alignment on metaphase plate and subsequent Genetic, biochemical, cytological analyses led identification key regulatory molecules structural components SC recombination machinery.
