摘要: Fronts in coastal oceans are important mesoscale processes that relate to regional dynamics and can impact ecosystems. The daily distribution of a sea surface temperature (SST) front is obtained the East China Sea (ECS) using 15 years satellite observations. High frontal activities mainly found near coast. spatial temporal variability monthly probability subsequently investigated an empirical orthogonal function (EOF). Seasonal predominant for majority ECS, with highest lowest values occurring during winter summer, respectively. Some major fronts have been identified, such as shelf fronts. be further divided into three separate sections: Hangzhou Bay along Jiangsu Zhejiang coasts, two north south Changjiang River. All characterized by prominent seasonal cycle, though their seasonalities differ. underlying driving forces, e.g., alongshore wind, SST, river discharge, analyzed individual River discharge factor coasts while wind main reason frontogenesis Bay. SST largely influences north. This study comprehensively describes ECS leads better understanding region. It fundamentally helpful fisheries management has great potential oceanic pollution control.
