Behavior of nitrogen compounds during hydrotreatment of Khafji atmospheric residuum

摘要: With increasing demands on fossil fuels as a source of energy, attention is focused upgrading heavy hydrocarbon resources such tar sand bitumens, shale oils, and coal-derived liquids. These hydrocarbons contain large amounts sulfur, nitrogen, metal compounds, which should be reduced for environmental reasons. In view the concerns, some countermeasures to eliminate NO/sub x/ emission from oil-fired furnaces described. 16 refs.
