Intrinsic and secondary mechanisms for biquadratic exchange coupling in magnetic trilayers

摘要: Abstract It is shown for a simple model that intrinsic biquadratic exchange associated with higher harmonics in the oscillatory coupling. Consequently it much smaller than bilinear and falls off more rapidly increasing temperature. Neither mechanism nor Slonczewski's secondary seems to explain strong observed Fe/Al/Fe suggestion made resolving difficulty.
