The Influence of Perceptions of Task Similarity/Difference on Learning Transfer in Second Language Writing

摘要: This study investigates the influence of students' perceptions task similarity/ difference on transfer writing skills. A total 42 students from a freshman ESL course completed an out-of-class task. For half students, subject matter was designed to be similar course; for other half, it different. All were also interviewed about Reports learning identified in interview transcripts, and performances recent assignment assessed. Results indicate that intended similarity/difference (i.e., matter) did not have expected impact transfer; however, transfer. Implications these findings theory, practice, future research are discussed.
