摘要: The MPEG Reconfigurable Video Coding working group is developing a new library-based process for building the reference codecs of future standards, which based on dataflow and uses an actor language called Cal. paper presents code generator producing RTL targeting FPGAs Cal, outlines its structure, demonstrates performance MPEG-4 Simple Profile decoder. resulting implementation smaller faster than comparable design, second half discusses some reasons this counter-intuitive result.
