摘要: To assess the impact of socio-economic status (SES) on cancer survival in state New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Patients diagnosed with one 13 major cancers during 1992–2000 NSW were followed-up to end 2001. The effect SES was estimated for each individual and all combined using multivariable modeling. numbers lives that could be extended if people had same level excess risk death due as patients highest areas also estimated. There highly statistically significant variations across groups four cancers: stomach, liver, lung, breast combined. Variation remained after adjusting disease stage. lower 10–20% higher than those areas. In total, there 3,346 potentially extendable beyond 5 years; number lung (756). significantly worse from may poorer access high-quality care. Estimates by improving suggest priority should given care NSW,
