Can Coloring Mandalas Reduce Anxiety? A Replication Study

摘要: Abstract This experimental study replicated Curry and Kasser's (2005) research that tested whether coloring a mandala would reduce anxiety. After inducing an anxious mood via writing activity, participants were randomly assigned to three groups colored either on design, plaid or blank paper. Anxiety level was measured with the State Inventory at baseline, after exercise, coloring. Results support hypothesis reduces anxiety significantly greater degree than design Implications for field of art therapy are discussed.
