Study on heritability genetic advance and genetic variability in maize genotypes (Zea mays L.)

摘要: The present study was conducted at GBPUA & T Pantnagar Uttarakhand during Kharif 2015 to various parameters of genetic variability, broad sense heritability and advance estimates in inbred line maize. Analysis variance revealed that the mean sum squares due genotypes showed significant differences for all 11 characters studied. Traits grain yield/ha, days 50% tasselling, silking, number kernels per row, 100-kernel weight were high accompanied with moderate genotypic phenotypic coefficient variation both environments (OPD HPD).Which indicates most likely is additive gene effects selection may be effective early generations these traits.
