摘要: An optical coherent detector that employs an interleave-chirped arrayed waveguide grating (AWG). The AWG has a periodic chirp pattern enables the to function as 90-degree hybrid. If is implemented using birefringent material, then can also polarization demultiplexer. In one embodiment, designed simultaneously wavelength demultiplexer, demultiplexer for each wavelength-division- multiplexed (WDM) signal component, and hybrid polarization- division-multiplexed component of WDM component.
