摘要: We reviewed the cases of 56 medical patients wih cardiac tamponade who were treated at University Cincinnati. A paradoxic arterial pulse was critical in diagnosis because most did not have a small quiet heart, and blood pressure often well maintained. Fifty-two 55 had enlarged silhouette by chest radiogram; heart sounds diminished 19 patients; systolic greater than or equal to 100 mm Hg 35, 40 27. Echocardiograms 23 showed abnormally increased right ventricular dimensions decreased left during inspiration, except one patient with dysfunction. The causes metastatic tumor 18 patients, idiopathic pericarditis eight uremia five; five occurred after heparin administration acute infarction. Myxedema dissecting aneurysm each caused two patients. Pericardiocentesis relieved initially 46 however, suffered fatal complications. Pericardial resection done 18, including 12 these 46.
