Specialized Zones of Development in Roots

摘要: The authors propose using the term "distal elongation zone" (DEZ) rather than "postmitotic isodiametric growth to refer group of cells between apical meristem and zone in plant roots. Reasons presented for change are that proposed DEZ includes many still dividing, most region not isodiametric, pattern cell expansion this varies with position region. Cells respond gravistimulation, mechanical impedance, electrotropic stimulation, water stress, auxin. Differences gene expression patterns main noted.
