摘要: Atherosclerosis is a disease of the arterial wall, progressively impairing blood flow as it spreads throughout body. The heart attacks and strokes that result this condition cause more deaths than cancer in industrial countries. Angiography refers to group imaging techniques used through diagnosis, treatment planning follow-up atherosclerosis. In recent years, Magnetic Resonance (MRA) has shown promising abilities supplant conventional, invasive, X-ray-based angiography. order fully benefit from modality, there need for objective reproducible methods. This thesis shows, two applications, how computerized image analysis can help define implement these First, by using segmentation improve visualization blood-pool contrast enhanced (CE)-MRA, with an additional application coronary Computerized Tomographic Angiography. We show that, limited amount user interaction algorithmic framework borrowed graph theory fuzzy logic theory, we simplify display complex 3D structures like vessels. Second, proposing methodology analyze geometry arteries whole-body CE-MRA. vessel centreline extracted, geometrical properties curve are measured, interpretation angiograms. It represents global approach conventional evaluation atherosclerosis, first step towards screening vascular diseases. have developed methods presented clinical practice mind. However, they potential be useful other applications analysis.
