摘要: The serine/threonine kinase encoded by the Us3 gene is conserved amongst all known alphaherpesviruses. has been reported to function in a variety of aspects virus lifecycle including protection cells from virus-induced apoptosis, de-envelopment enveloped particles perinuclear space and cell-to-cell spread infection. In this report, we examined sub-cellular localization pseudorabies (PRV) homolog. PRV encodes two proteins termed Us3a Us3b. differs Us3b that it contains 54 additional N-terminal amino acids. transfected cells, localized predominantly plasma membrane whereas protein nucleus. To explore differences proteins, fused amino-terminal acids amino-terminus enhanced green fluorescent (EGFP). Surprisingly, fusion exclusively mitochondria cells. Analysis mutated Us3–EGFP revealed carboxy-terminal 101 comprises membrane/vesicular domain, 102 nuclear domain. We provide model rationalize complex hypothesize mitochondrial, motifs anti-apoptotic, egress functions Us3.
