摘要: Ultrasonic measurements in powder metallurgy (PM) compacts at various stages of production are presented both as a practical means improving PM and method providing fuller understanding materials. monitoring during compaction, novel process instrumentation technique to follow densification, is reviewed. Measurements taken the compaction simple disk demonstrate that ultrasonic velocity can be used measure situ density. This connection arises due acoustic equivalence between after sintering. two-level part demonstrated fully capable independently following density each level. The results also provide evidence different regimes flow behaviour compaction. mapping compact sintering provides confirmation results. Subsequently, green shown consistent with dependence on quality inter-particle bonding. Finally, laser determine attenuation. Attenuation values sintered Rayleigh scattering frequency which yields particle size known value.
