Defects in half-metals and finite temperature

摘要: The influence of intrinsic defects in half-metals is calculated the case NiMnSb. Of 14 cases defects, five affect half-metallic properties. They are energetically very unlikely to occur. Circumstances discussed under which may even have a beneficial effect on spin polarization conduction electrons. Non-intrinsic like deliberate doping by rare-earth atoms, as well nano-structured contacts magnon spectrum, improving behaviour at finite temperature.
