摘要: Stimulation of the antenna male moth, Manduca sexta, with a key component female's sex pheromone and mimic second evokes responses in projection neurons sexually dimorphic macroglomerular complex antennal lobe. Using intracellular recording staining techniques, we studied receptive fields 149 such neurons. An flagellum was stimulated six regions along its proximo-distal axis one or both pheromone-related compounds while activity recorded These fell mainly into two groups, based on their to two-component blend: broad that were excited when any region stimulated, selectively by stimulation proximal flagellum. Projection depolarized not inhibited other regions, suggesting absence antennotopic center-surround organization. In most neurons, field determined afferent input evoked only components. Different receptive-field properties may be related roles these sensory control various phases pheromone-modulated behavior moths.
