摘要: In an effort to study the drop size distribution (DSD) a state-of-the-art instrument arrangement was deployed on Wallops Island, VA. The instrumentation consisted of 2.3-km multi-frequency microwave link, three impact disdrometers, and network optical tipping bucket raingauges. A dual-frequency inversion technique implemented with link measurements attenuations at 25 GHz 38 estimate path-average DSD. Concurrently, X-band, dual-polarization radar, located in vicinity, collected polarization reflectivity over path. evaluation estimates generated some preliminary results.
