摘要: Arabidopsis plants overexpressing β-carotene hydroxylase 1 accumulate over double the amount of zeaxanthin present in wild-type plants. The final amplitude non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) was found to be same these plants, but kinetics were different. formation and relaxation NPQ consistently correlated with de-epoxidation state xanthophyll cycle pool not zeaxanthin. These data indicate that violaxanthin antagonistically regulate switch between light harvesting photoprotective modes system show control size is necessary optimize NPQ.
