k-NN based fault detection and classification methods for power transmission systems

摘要: This paper deals with two new methods, based on k-NN algorithm, for fault detection and classification in distance protection. In these by finding the between each sample its fifth nearest neighbor a pre-default window, occurrence time faulty phases are determined. The maximum value of distances case procedures is compared pre-defined threshold values. main advantages methods are: simplicity, low calculation burden, acceptable accuracy, speed. performance proposed scheme tested typical system MATLAB Simulink. Various possible types different resistances, inception angles, locations, short circuit levels, X/R ratios, source load angles simulated. addition, similar six well-known techniques method using plenty simulation data.
