摘要: Background: Heart transplantation (HTX) has become an established therapy for patients with end-stage heart failure. Endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) still represents the gold standard routine surveillance of transplant rejection. The objective this article is to report our experience regarding use EMB in monitoring recipients. Methods: We evaluated retrospectively all who underwent orthotopic HTX between 2000 and 2011 at hospital. From patients, we created a follow-up, determined number events described complications associated procedure. Results: was performed 142 cases center last 11 years (1.3% total 10693 cardiac surgical operations that period). Further 9 visited department after external (total: 151). For 1896 have been recorded. majority biopsies were through right internal jugular vein. overall complication rate 1% (n=19). Conclusions: histological examination ventricular care allograft rejection monitoring. invasive, but safe dedicated diagnostic However, usefulness recent non-invasive approaches as adjunct tool remains be further analyzed.
