The relationship of victimization through child abuse to aggressive delinquent behavior

摘要: OBJECTIVE: The objective of this article by Kratcoski and was to examine youth who experienced violent abuse as a child later acted out violently towards immediate family members or caretakers. METHODOLOGY: This non-experimental case study delinquent youths from the Ohio Youth Commission were incarcerated in one four institutions for serious male offenders. authors surveyed files 863 abstracted interpreted data. data typically included demographic information (sex, race, age, nature number offenses) summaries which had about histories including victimization youth. FINDINGS/DISCUSSION: 26% reviewed indicated individual expereinced abuse. 85% victims abused on more than occasion. 45% directed violence and/or caretakers, 18% nonabused committed acts AUTHORS' RECOMMENDATIONS: state that it cannot be assumed children experience are predisposed abusive behavior.
