摘要: Modification of glucose/xylose isomerase from Streptomyces sp. NCIM 2730 by diethylpyrocarbonate (DEPC) or its photooxidation in presence rose bengal methylene blue caused rapid loss activity. The inactivation the enzyme was accompanied an increase absorbance at 240 nm and reversed hydroxylamine. Glucose xylose but not Mg++ Co++ afforded significant protection to DEPC. Inactivation followed pseudo-first-order kinetics modification a single histidine residue per mole indicated.
