Legacies of an unknown past

摘要: This paper deals with contrasts between on the one hand Dani cultures in Central Highlands of West Irian, and other what are now Eastern Western Provinces Papua New Guinea. In two earlier papers I compared Grand Valley Bokondini Dani, a group (Ploeg 1966 Ploeg press). Fortunately, Feil's recent analysis evolution Highland (1987) allows me to elaborate these papers. The present consists following parts. First, shall recapitu late main points second comparison Then discuss conclusions regard different development eastern western highland cultures, which apply, third part, Dani. fourth, final, part contains my conclusions.
