The validity of examination essays in higher education: Issues and responses

摘要: The use of timed, essay examinations is a well-established means evaluating student learning in higher education. reliability scoring highly problematic and it appears that examination grades are dependent on language organisational components writing. Computer-assisted essays makes features has demonstrated strong similarity to human ratings. Studies examiner behaviour show attention content contributes grading decisions. However, given the time constraints examinations, an overemphasis aspects may weaken validity grades. This article suggests alternative approaches standard prompt which should raise tasks Suggested options include redesigning so less influential maps.
