摘要: Habitat selection remains a poorly understood ecological process, but relating mating behaviour to pattern of habitat constitutes fundamental issue both in evolutionary ecology and biological conservation. From radiotelemetry protocol, habitat-induced variations success were investigated solitary mustelid carnivore, the European polecat Mustela putorius. Selection for marshy was regarded as adaptive that found greater using marches than other habitats. Males consorted with 1.3 females, revealing low polygyny rate. Pregnant or lactating females selectively shifted deciduous woods. That some types may favour good reproduction forms key factor species conservation environmental management. Nevertheless, such various vertebrates, requirements seem be based on simple broad features habitat, suggesting avoidance rather preference can explain predilection.
