Mathematics anxiety and the primary school teacher: An exploratory study of the relationship between mathematics anxiety, mathematics teacher efficacy, and mathematics avoidance

摘要: Mathematics Anxiety and the Primary School Teacher: An Exploratory Study of Relationship Between Anxiety, Teacher Efficacy, Avoidance Sharon Jacqueline Jaggernauth This study sought to clarify relationship between mathematics anxiety, teacher efficacy, avoidance among primary school teachers in Trinidad Tobago. Data were collected through a self-reporting questionnaire administered 68 teachers. Findings revealed that: 1) while anxiety not evident sample, female reported higher levels than males; 2) that they believed taught effectively comfortable teaching mathematics; 3) there was no significant three constructs variables highest level educational achievement, type school, number years teaching, current programme which enrolled.
