摘要: Those who have difficulty walking are eligible for a ‘blue badge’, which gives extra parking rights. An evidence-based assessment was introduced to assess applicants' eligibility this badge. The consisted of an interview, symptom scaling, falls risk (including functional reach) and walk test. In total, 226 assessments were carried out in 6-month period. discriminant analysis using all parts the gave 95% compliance cross validation value 88%. Post-assessment, awards badges decreased by 12% appeals 25%. All found be useful helping make decision. Answers from could predict 88% time. Consequently, therapists' knowledge experience is still necessary. Using face-to-face reduced potential abuse, amount made decision-making process more transparent.
