摘要: Ocusert® (pilocarpine) Pilo-20/Pilo-40 is one of several ocular Therapeutic Systems and has been tested clinically since 1972. As most clinical trials were undertaken for a relatively short period, my aim was to obtain information — which hitherto lacking on the effects continuous release substance eye over extended periods. It understandable that such study can only be carried out with small collective patients because they have kept together years under observation. In assessment, membrane unit unknown component pilocarpine known antiglaucomatous substance. Such an important problem as question whether consistent IOP more suitable maintaining morphological structures (papilla) sensoric functions (visual field) not object this investigation. The following aspect especially taken into consideration: The effect IOP, pupil accommodation during 7 days functional life Ocusert unit, the controlled drug delivery long-term use, the patient acceptance satisfaction compared conventional dosage forms.
